The India Post Office Department has issued an invitation for online applications from eligible candidates to be engaged as Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS), comprising Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevaks.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

To be eligible for all approved categories of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS), candidates must possess a Secondary School Examination pass certificate from a recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments/Union Territories. This certificate should reflect passing grades in Mathematics and English, which were either studied as compulsory or elective subjects. Additionally, applicants are required to have studied the local language (Name of Local language) up to at least the Secondary standard, either as a compulsory or elective subject.

Other qualifications:-

Knowledge of computer
Knowledge of cycling
Adequate means of livelihood

Age Limit

Minimum age:18 years
Maximum age:40 years

(ii) Age will be determined as on the last date of submission of applications.

Age relaxation

Schedule Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST)      5 years

Other Backward Classes (OBC)                   3 years

Persons with Disabilities (PwD)                 10 years

Persons with Disabilities (PwD) + OBC       13 years

Persons with Disabilities (PwD) + SC/ST     15 year

Emoluments

Emoluments in the form of Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) plus Dearness Allowance thereon are paid to the GDS.

BPM -  Rs.12,000 29,380/-

ABPM/Dak Sevak   -    Rs.10,000 24,470/- 

Selection criteria

*Applicants will be selected for engagement based on a system-generated merit list. 

*This list will be prepared by aggregating the marks obtained or converting Grades/Points to marks from the Secondary School Examination (10th standard) conducted by approved Boards. The percentage will be calculated with accuracy up to 4 decimals to determine the candidates' merit ranking.

Application Fee

For all posts notified in the choice of Division, applicants are required to pay a fee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only). However, female applicants, SC/ST applicants, PwD applicants, and Transwomen applicants are exempted from paying the fee.

Applicants, except those falling in the exempted category, can make the fee payment through any of the available online modes using the provided payment link. Accepted modes of payment include all recognized Credit/Debit cards and Net Banking facility/UPI. As per the prevailing rules, charges applicable for using Debit/Credit cards and net banking will be levied on the applicants.




How to Apply

*Applicant will have on to first register himself/herself on the Engagement Portal at the link given below after reading the notification carefully.

*Once the applicants registered the same mobile number will not be allowed for any further registrations of any other applicant. In case any duplicate Registration is found by altering the basic details, the candidature of all such registrations will be removed from selection process. Any applicant who forgot the registration number can retrieve the registration number through option 'Forgot registration'.

*The applicant Is required to upload recent photograph and signature.
